Do you want to set up a WordPress blog or migrate your site? You should look into SiteGround hosting.

I’ve used the host for more than six years, and I love them. Compared to other hosts in the same price range, the service is fantastic. You can start and grow a blog without switching hosts.

What Is SiteGround Hosting?

SiteGround is a hosting company that you can use to host or “store” your website or blog. Like other hosts, you do have to pay for it, but you can set your site up with WordPress or another builder.
I’ve started three blogs using SiteGround and WordPress, and I love it. The company offers different plans, so you can find one that meets your needs and budget.
Unique Features
SiteGround has a lot of standard hosting features. You’ll get a certain amount of GB space to store your website files. All plans come with free WordPress installation and migration (if you want to move from another host).
You’ll also get a free email, daily backups, and other security benefits. One of my favorite parts of SiteGround hosting is that they offer a 100% renewable energy match. That means they’re carbon neutral, so they’re good for the planet.
Another thing that I believe is crucial is good customer support. I’ve contacted SiteGround a handful of times and have always had a good experience. When my site went down, they were able to help me get it back up and working quickly.
Pros
- Good service
- Variety of plans
- Easy to set up
- Decent price
- Carbon neutral
Cons
- Not the cheapest host
How to Set Up a SiteGround Hosting Account
If you want to start using SiteGround for hosting, you can create an account and set up your first website. You can either use it to start a new website, or you can migrate your site from another host.
Migrating a WordPress site from another host is super easy. While I haven’t done that, I’m sure the customer support team can help if you have any issues.
Here are the steps you need to follow to start using SiteGround.
Visit Their Website
First, you need to visit the SiteGround website. There, you can check out the different plans for web hosting, WordPress hosting, and WooCommerce hosting.
Take a look at all of the features they offer, from security to setup and more. Then, you can figure out what you need from your hosting plan to narrow the choices.
Select a Plan
When you’re ready, click on the SiteGround plan you want to purchase. This will prompt you to put in your account and payment details.
Follow all of the prompts on your screen. Then, you’ll get access to your SiteGround account where you can set up a new website or transfer your current site.
Create a Website
In your account, you can set up a website under the “Websites” tab. You’ll need to buy or connect a domain, or you can work without one for now until you set up your site.
If you want to use WordPress, SiteGround offers a one-click installation option. That way, you don’t have to download WordPress from the WordPress.org site and upload it to your web host.
Why Use SiteGround for Hosting
If you want a website host that’s easy to use, you should use SiteGround hosting. I’ve been with them for over six years, and I haven’t had any issues.
But you may want more details. Read on to learn more about why you should use SiteGround.
Great Features
I love how SiteGround offers a lot of amazing features, and many of them come free with your plan. Some hosts charge extra for things like backups and website security, but those are free with SiteGround.
Also, a lot of hosts don’t offer carbon neutrality. If you care about the planet, it’s nice to know that SiteGround has a renewable energy match for all of the energy it uses.
It’s also nice to get a free email. Sure, Google Workspace may be nice for some people, but it adds up. If you want to keep costs low, a free email account is just fine.
Easy to Use
You don’t need to be tech savvy to use SiteGround for hosting a website. The host makes it easy to create your account and to add new websites and upgrade or downgrade your plan.
If you ever need any help, you can contact support. They’re usually pretty quick to respond, and they can fix most problems. I’m sure they can’t do everything, but they’ll do their best.
Whether you’re setting up your first website or want to move from Blogger or another host, SiteGround is great. You get a lot of help when necessary, but you can also do a lot yourself.
WordPress Hosting
WordPress is one of the best blogging platforms you can use. If you want to give it a try, you should do so with SiteGround.
The company offers free WordPress installation and migration, so you can set up your site without paying a ton. If you’re looking to change hosts, some charge a lot for migration.
And if this is your first site, setting it up is also easy. Then, you can log into your WordPress dashboard and start creating content.
Good Value
SiteGround isn’t the cheapest website host. However, it’s relatively affordable, and it’s a good value for the price. You get a lot of great features, and you may not need to upgrade for a while.
I used their basic StartUp plan for over five years. The main reason I upgraded was to add a second blog to my hosting account.
But if you just want one blog, you can use the basic plan. It has everything you need to start and grow your site.
Why Not Use SiteGround for Hosting
SiteGround hosting is great, but it’s not for everyone. Before you sign up, you may want to consider a couple of reasons not to use it.
For one, it’s not the cheapest. If you’re on a super tight budget, you may want to look into alternatives. I’ve only ever used SiteGround (and Blogger), so I can’t tell you what other hosts to try.
On the other hand, it also doesn’t have plans for extremely large sites. The GoGeek plan can support up to around 400,000 page views per month.
But if you have multiple large blogs or if your blog is much bigger than that, SiteGround might not have enough resources for your site.
Will You Use SiteGround Hosting?
If you want a good, affordable WordPress host, you should start using SiteGround hosting. The company offers a great service, and it’s for a pretty decent price.
I’ve used the host since 2016 and can’t recommend them enough to new and experienced bloggers.
